Corporate action guidelines

Bestex has expended its business activities to cover the globe and brought joy to customers everywhere, building bonds of trust with them, and with society. To continue to grow our global business, however, we must take action that makes us stand out in the many nations and regions we operate in.
Our action guidelines codify the efforts we make every day. By ensuring that every employee shares and implements these action guidelines, we earn and keep the trust of our customers and society, and solidify our reputation as a trustworthy partner.

Compliance

To ensure that BESTEX remains a corporation with proven respect for the law,
I will fully comply with applicable laws and regulations.

1.Compliance with laws and regulations

  • Appropriate disposal of waste and pollutants
    Strive to minimize the generation of waste and pollutants in every phase of our operation, including development, production, distribution, sale, service, and disposal, and dispose of generated waste and pollutants appropriately.
  • Efficient resource utilization and recycling
    Strive to improve resource and energy utilization efficiency, and promote recycling.
  • Measurement, recording, and reporting in accordance with laws and regulations
    Make, record, and report environmental indices including soil, underground water, air, noise, and odor, in accordance with environmental laws and regulations and corporate regulations.

2.Compliance with corporate regulations

  • Accurate understanding of corporate regulations
    Ensure accurate understanding of the letter and the spirit of corporate regulations, and that revisions are handled appropriately.
  • Handling of incorrect interpretations
    In the event that the interpretation of a corporate regulation is unclear, the department in charge of formulating regulations shall be contacted, and the correct interpretation determined.
  • Handling of violations
    In the event a corporate regulation is violated, or thought likely to be violated, employees will contact their superior or the corporate ethics suggestions contact to report, propose, and consult as appropriate.
  • Reporting
    All reports will be filed as defined in corporate regulations.

3.Observance of social norms

Employees will act in accordance with social norms as good members of society.

Traffic safety

To ensure that BESTEX remains a leader in safe driving,
I will obey traffic rules and drive safely.

Environmental protection

To ensure that BESTEX remains actively involved in environmental protection,
I will actively support those efforts.

Information management

To ensure that BESTEX can continue to handle customer and supplier information appropriately,
I will take care in the handling of confidential information.

    Security management is critical, including locking equipment, and managing computers and computer passwords.
  • Prevention of confidential information disclosure
    We implement protective measures to prevent any leakage of corporate confidential information, or personal information relating to our customers, our suppliers, or our employees.

Health and safety

To ensure that BESTEX continues to maintain a comfortable working environment for all employees,
I will strive to ensure a safe, healthy environment.

  • A comfortable working environment
    The workplace is kept organized, neat, and clean, creating a comfortable workplace.
  • Observance of smoking rules
    Employees will observe smoking rules and etiquette.
  • Accident prevention
    Hazardous tasks and locations will be managed appropriately to prevent accidents.
  • Handling of unsafe situations
    Employees will notify their superior immediately in the event a hazardous location or task is found.
  • Action during disasters
    In the event of a disaster, saving lives is the top priority, and then working to minimize the disaster.
  • Emergency contact
    Emergency procedures and contact information will be kept up to date and utilized promptly if needed.

Discrimination

To ensure that BESTEX continues to be a fair company, free of discrimination,
I will recognize and accept the individuality and differences of people around the world, and act with an awareness that we are all equal.

  • Prohibition on discrimination
    Discrimination is prohibited for place of birth, nationality, beliefs, religion, gender, race, ethnic group, age, intellectual or physical disability, medical history, hobbies or interests, academic history, social standing, or other criteria.
  • Prohibition on discriminatory expressions and terms
    Employees will not use discriminatory language, or expressions that could be misunderstood as discriminatory.

Protection of privacy

To ensure that BESTEX continues to respect the individual’s privacy,
I will make every effort to protect privacy.

  • Compliance with laws and regulations related to privacy
    Employees observe the letter and the spirit of laws and regulations related to the protection of individual privacy.
  • Prohibition on unauthorized disclosure of personal information
    Employees will also obtain authorization from an individual before disclosing that individual’s personal information to a third party.

Transactions

To ensure that BESTEX maintains it fair and sound relationship with its business partners,
I will ensure transactions are fair and sound.

  • Selection of business partners
    In the procurement of products and services, conditions applying to multiple candidates will be evaluated and compared fairly, and the optimal supplier selected.
  • Prohibition on gifts and entertainment
    Gifts and entertainment above and beyond the normally accepted social level are prohibited between employees and business partners.
  • Prohibition on inappropriate utilization of position or authority
    Employees shall not utilize their position or authority inappropriately, or accept inappropriate advantage from others.

Interaction with government agencies

To ensure that BESTEX can maintain sound interaction with government agencies,
I will interact with government agencies in a sound and appropriate manner.

  • Compliance with ethics laws and regulations
    Employee action will be in accordance with the spirit of laws and regulations related to public servant ethics.
  • Prohibition on excessive gifts and entertainment
    Provision of gifts and entertainment to government employees in excess of general business custom and social mores is prohibited.

Communication

To ensure that BESTEX remains a highly transparent organization,
I will prioritize good communication with society.

Corporate ethics suggestions

The basic approach in rectifying workplace problems is communication within the department, but there may be cases where resolution within the department is difficult. BESTEX has established an ethics suggestion program that accepts suggestions from anyone in the company.
Please send us your suggestions for improvement at any time. To ensure that the program functions effectively the Corporate Ethics Committee composed of senior management protects the person making the suggestion, determines how to resolve major issues that departments cannot resolve by themselves, issues directives to affected departments, and audits appropriate program operation.

Making suggestions

  • Suggestions are accepted dealing with corporate ethics.
  • We recommend signing your name to submitted suggestions.
  • Any employee of BESTEX may make a suggestion.

Protection of suggesting parties

  • If the suggesting party asks for anonymity, his or her name will not be disclosed.
  • The program will take appropriate action to prevent any disadvantageous effects on the suggesting party as a result of the suggestion.
